More than just perfectly straight teeth

It’s important that your teeth and jaw is properly aligned. Malocclusions are often created by the imperfect position of teeth. This can affect the way you bite and chew, and cause difficulties with inadequate tooth brushing, resulting in tooth decay and gum disease.

Orthodontics employs the use of braces, aligners or corrective surgical treatments to correctly position the jaw and straighten teeth.

At Marsh Lane Dental we use a variety of traditional and innovative straightening systems, and our Orthodontist will be happy to discuss your options.

Discrete &
effective

Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign system is almost invisible. The length of treatment with Invisalign varies from person to person, but we will be able to give you an estimate at your consultation

How does it work?

After impressions of your teeth are taken, we use the ClinCheck® virtual 3D system to generate a treatment plan, which shows the series of movements your teeth are projected to go through. This means you can see how your teeth are expected to look at the end of your treatment, before it begins.

As you begin the treatment, a series of custom-made aligners are made, which you will change every two weeks. Your teeth will begin moving, little by little, gradually moving towards the final projected position. Your orthodontist will schedule checkups throughout this period to ensure you’re comfortable, and monitor your progress.

Invisalign Stories

Mikala’s Story

I chose Invisalign because the aligners are clear. Nobody noticed I was wearing them and I liked that you could take them out to eat.

Completely
hidden

Unlike traditional braces, Incognito braces are hidden discreetly on the back of the teeth. This means you can straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious, because your braces are virtually invisible from the outside. It also eliminates any risk of decalcification to the front of the teeth.

Suitable for all age groups, including children and adolescents, these advanced braces are custom-made for each patient using the latest computer technology, ensuring maximum comfort and precise results. Treatment length is typically 12-24 months.

How does it work?

Impressions of your teeth are taken and sent to a laboratory in Germany where a scanner converts these impressions into a 3D computer model. This model is used to produce your unique gold lingual brackets.

When we receive your bespoke lingual brace from Incognito we need to see you to attach the braces.  This can take up to 2 hours and is a pain free process, you will need to keep your mouth open for a long time, but we will keep you as comfortable as possible.

Once your brace is fitted, your orthodontist will see you every 6-10 weeks, to monitor progress and adjust the brace as necessary. When your treatment is complete you will receive a retainer to wear at night, to ensure your teeth remain in their new position.

Fast &
cost-effective

The Inman Aligner is designed especially to treat crowding or protrusion of the front teeth. It’s efficient, fast, and great value. Front teeth can be gently guided to an ideal position in a matter of weeks. Most cases complete in 6-18 weeks and because it’s removable you can take it out to fit with your lifestyle.

How does it work?

Impressions of your teeth are taken, which are sent to the Inman laboratory where your aligner is custom-made. The Inman Aligner is a simple removable appliance used to align front teeth quickly and safely. Its uses Nickel Titanium coil springs that power two aligner bows, which gently oppose each other, guiding the teeth into their new position. These gentle forces are active over a very large range of movement, which is why the Inman Aligner works so quickly.
